‘English’ walnuts got their name not because there’s a type of walnut grown in England (in fact there are no commercial producers in England), but because it was the English merchant marines who brought walnuts out of the Middle East to the rest of the world.  Walnuts have many health benefits, including prevention of cardiovascular disease, and supporting bone health.
