The situation with pears is difficult. At the end of March/April Chinese packers had difficulty collecting fresh pears, a typical situation that usually lasts until the end of April or beginning of May. Pears have been in high demand lately, especially in Natural Juice, because of the low availability, so little stock is available.
This also affects the packing of Fruit Cocktail and Fruit Mix, since there are fewer packers producing these products for stock, due to the high costs involved. Packers normally take orders and, once shipping instructions are received, they begin the production. This is the reason why fruit cocktail and fruit mix are more in demand today, simply because there are fewer stocks in China.
Now Fruit Cocktail is even more difficult because the packers cannot find fresh pears.
