The Thai Pineapple situation is worsening and packers have stopped offering all canned pineapple items at this moment except for small unsold stocks they might still have and that are already packed. They are facing an ever decreasing supply of raw materials at higher prices due to the upcoming crop shortage, and so are unable to dispatch even many of their pending orders. They are almost fully sold out, with long lines of pending orders. Some are booked through the end of August, 2013.
The situation with “Choice” grade pineapple is especially bad. We have been able to get some pineapple offers from Chinese packers.
If product is needed, we recommend sourcing out of China.
