Please note that most Thai canned pineapple packers have stopped offering because of the very poor supply of raw materials, this due to the fact that the extreme heat and drought have diminished the fruit supply. Some can offer some stocks already packed, but these are very limited at this moment.
Given the shortages in Philippines, Indonesia and Africa, this leaves China and Vietnam as the main alternative sources, though their pineapple variety, the Queen Victoria, is disliked by many despite being an excellent fruit with very good color and taste, because it usually has “holes”, whereas the Thai variety, the Smooth Cayenne, does not.
