The Thai pineapple situation is very bad right now. Raw material has become seriously short and packers have had to withdraw all offers made and will not be able to make any new offers until the situation is clearer, probably towards the end of May. Some packers can only offer from stock product.

Up until now, some factories had only been able to produce 3 days a week due to lack of raw material. All packers were facing a shortage of pineapple supply due to the fruit being destroyed by heat. Some were managing to receive only about 330 metric tons per day, so they were already suspecting that there would not be a peak crop during this summer.
