Thai baby corn raw material supply has peaked and supply will start coming down in late April. Prices have dropped 10% because of lower demand, and farmers have decided to reduce the area dedicated to growing this product, as raw materials prices have been too low.

Due to these factors, Thai baby corn pricing will rise over the next couple of months, and the recommendation is to buy Thai product now if Thai origin is preferred.

In Vietnam, which has greatly increased its participation in the world Baby Corn market, the harvest has been good and better than expected. Current prices are low, forced down by low Thai prices, but it’s expected that as Thai prices rise, so will the Vietnamese.

If Vietnamese product is preferred, again the recommendation is to buy now.
