Chinese tuna packers have reached what they consider their bottom pricing. Chinese analysts consider this is the time to buy, despite the fact that Skipjack out of Thailand has come down to levels close to the Chinese tuna.
Thai Skipjack raw material prices to packers is at $1700 / MT for product delivered in November. It’s speculated that that price will come down to $1600 – $1650 / MT for December deliveries, remain at that level in January and then increase from February on.
